The children's author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.
Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.
An official for the firm said: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was reached following an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at women.
The firm declined to specify the motivations for this action, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Some of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.
He has published over four dozen titles combined, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
